I stumbled across www.retrojunk.com today while looking around for videoclips of the things I loved when I was very, very young in the 80's. Thanks to the internet, people from my generation never have to truly grow up since we will always have access to the things we held dear when we were tiny. All the generations before us never really got to revisit the things they loved except by what they had stored in their own heads.
I watched the second 'Care Bears' movie this evening. The story is absolutely incomprehensible! The animation is even pretty lame. Still, I have a lingering attachment for the music and the movie's main attraction to my five-year-old self.
A taste of things to come... the sexy little shape-shifting, red-eyed villian, Darkheart, was an obvious precursur to the sort of fellows I'd find myself swooning over in subsequent years.

Anyone who knows me now would look at this guy and laughingly say, "Of COURSE you liked him!"
Especially when you compare him to a more current interest such as Kaworu Nagisa from 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'. (He's the silver-haired, red-eyed guy preying on innocent little Shinji.. *purr*)

Anyhoo... Darkheart or no, Carebears is probably not something I would care to share with my own (as of yet non-existant) children. I'll more than likely end up an entertainment nazi like Jamie Hewlett and only allow my kids to watch Miyazaki films or somefink. XD
