LJ, for the love of all that is good, WORK!!!!!

I dunno about you guys, but LJ isn't working worth a flip for me.  It hasn't worked for the last few days.  It was all I could do to even post this entry!  Had to refresh like five times to even get the screen to load!  It's not completely loading anyone's entries for me to read, and I can forget about replying to posts!!  That isn't working at all.

Is everyone else having this kind of trouble?

I had lots of trouble with the site yesterday, it wouldn't load at all for most of the day and when I wanted to post something, I had to try twice before I could log in. Today it's better, albeit a little slow. So you're not the only one.

LJ got rid of a sponsor that was permitting an unholy amount of spambots loose; they'd been resisting, but the complaints got too high. After they cut them, the DDoS attacks began as a form of retribution. LJ really is doing their best to defeat them, but it's caused disruption for myself as well, particularly at late hours (when perhaps Russia is up and awake -- as you may recall, they sold the company to a Russian group).

Wow, I did know there were DDoS attacks going on, but I didn't know they were caused by disputes with a sponsor. That sucks.

The sponsor let the bots through, so the rumors are saying, loud ones that are too hard to ignore (even LJ admitted they had been resisting due to such circumstances). I don't know if it's the sponsor doing the retaliation or just the type of people who used the damn spambots in the first place. God those things were annoying, screwing up communities here, there, and everywhere. It's like telemarketers ruining the use of the telephone. Rawr!

Oh wow... my reply is actually working right now!

This is the one place I truly use for online connecting, so it's beyond frustrating that this has been going on. I hope they can straighten it out sooner rather than later!

(It especially frustrating when you have a paid account!)
